Oleksandr Denysovych Maksymov was a Soviet graphic artist, illustrator, and poster artist. Born in 1930 in the Moscow region, in 1950 he graduated from the Art School in Memory of 1905, then in 1958 from the V. Surikov Moscow State Art Institute. Maksymov was one of the founders of "TASS Okna" and the magazine "Crocodile". He was engaged in easel graphics and painting. A member of the Union of Artists of the USSR, he participated in art exhibitions starting in 1958. From the 1960s, he worked in the Experimental Lithographic Workshop on Verkhna Maslovka. He created of political and social posters, book illustrations, and postcards. His works are kept in museums and private collections in Russia. Maksymov lived and worked in Moscow and died in 1992.
