Vasyl Ivanovych Tishunin was a Ukrainian painter. He was born on January 1, 1935 in the city of Kirieievsk, Tula region. He graduated from the Kyiv Art Institute (1966). His teachers were M. Khmelko, P. Sliakot. He worked in the field of easel painting. His main works include “Before the Storm” (1966), “Blast Furnace”, “For the Land, for Freedom” (1969), and others. He participated in republic exhibitions starting in 1965. He lived and worked in Kyiv.

Item description from the inventory book:
Among the winter rural landscape are Red Army soldiers and the peasants seeing them off. Here are horses, a dog in the foreground. A red flag stands out brightly in the center of the image. In the lower left corner is the author's signature and date.
