Vasyl Mykytovych Karmazin was a Ukrainian artist and member of the Ukrainian Union of Artists from 1956. Born on December 20, 1917 in Katerynoslav (now Dnipro, Ukraine), he was a participant of World War II and graduated from the Kyiv Art Institute in 1954. From 1945 to 1948, he worked in the Dnipropetrovsk art workshops, and later engaged in creative work. He was a participant of republic and all-Union art exhibitions starting in 1945. He created posters along the lines of official ideology on political topics and collaborated with the publishing houses "Mystetstvo", "Derzhtekhvydav", and "Derzhsilgospvydav". Karmazin's main works include the posters "Korea Shall Not Be Conquered" (1951), "Peace Will Prevail" (1954), "Excellent" (1955), "Glory to Working Women!" (1960), "The Thirteenth Has Passed" (1964), and others. He died on September 27, 1967 in Kyiv. Some works are kept in museums of Ukraine.
