Oleksandr Ivanovych Laktionov was a Soviet painter. He was born in 1910 in the city of Rostov-on-Don and graduated from the Rostov Art School (1926-1929) and the Academy of Arts in Leningrad (1932-1938). He studied with I. Brodskyi. After completing the academic course, he completed postgraduate studies at the educational institution (1938-1944), where he was directed by I. Hrabar. Laktionov participated in exhibitions starting in 1929. His main works include "Letter to the Front" (1947), "In a New Fiat" (1952), and others. He lived and worked in Leningrad until 1940, in Zagorsk, Moscow Region (1944-1948), then in Moscow. He died in Moscow in 1972.

- Throughout the canvas, especially in its upper part, there are transverse cracks in the paint layer, tinted during restoration work. Along the edges, right and left, there are marks from the subframe. On the reverse side, at the top, right and bottom there are small areas of applied canvas.

Original. Among the antique furniture, against the background of a painting hanging on the wall, is a full-length depiction of a man in a tailcoat; on the lapel there are two orders. In his right hand is a gold pocket watch on a chain. Underfoot is a carpet with large floral patterns. Below, on the left - A. Laktionov 40-48.
