Oleksii Mykhailovych Mishchenko was a Ukrainian painter, graphic artist, illustrator. He was born on March 15, 1940 in the village of Mokrets, Kyiv region. In 1968, he graduated from the Kyiv State Art Institute with a degree in architecture. He studied under the guidance of Yu. Sadylenko, P. Kostyrko, and M. Stepanov. From 1980, he was a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. In 1975-1983, he worked at the publishing house "Veselka". His main works include illustrations for the books "Forest Tent" by M. Prishvin (1979) and "Spring Waters" by F. Tyutchev (1983), and the works "In the Country of My Childhood" (1979-1980), "Earth is My Joy" (1982), and "Prairies - Steppe" (1991-1997). He lived and worked in Kyiv.
