Oleksii Andriiovych Petrenko is a Ukrainian artist, painter, and graphic artist. He is a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1978), an Honored Artist of Ukraine (2000), and a People's Artist of Ukraine (2018). Born on April 15, 1941 in the village of Markhalivka, Kyiv region, he graduated in 1974 from the Kyiv Art Institute. His teachers were I. Selivanov, M. Popov, L. Chichkan, V. Sergieiev, and M. Rasnianskyi. Since then, he has been engaged in creative work. He works in the field of easel painting and graphics. His works have a deeply national character, a philosophical nature, and a rich artistic palette. He has participated in all-Ukrainian, all-Union, and foreign art exhibitions starting in 1972. His personal exhibition was held in Kyiv in 2016. In 2010, he founded a fine arts studio in his native village, where he teaches children and adults for free. His main works include: "Father's House" (1977), "Valley of Tall Grasses", "Bird Dialogue", "Northern Summer" (all 1979), "Autumn" (1987), "Wind" (1990), "Blagovist" (1999), "Portrait of a Woman" (2000), "Kyiv" (2004-2008), "Carpathians" (2014-2015), and others. Some of his works are kept in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, in many art and local history museums of Ukraine, and in private collections.
