Vasyl Andriiovych Ponikarov was a Ukrainian graphic artist, a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (1970), and an Honored Artist of Ukraine (2006). Born on August 26, 1929 in the village of Dolynske, Odesa region, he graduated from the M. Grekov Odesa Art School in 1958, where his teachers were L. Muchnyk, M. Zhuk, and T. Fraierman. In 1970, he graduated from the Moscow Polygraphic Institute, where his teachers were Yu. Bordzhelian, H. Horoshchenko, and B. Sholokhov. Starting in 1965, Ponikarov was a participant in art exhibitions. His personal exhibitions were held in Odesa (1984, 1986, 1999, 2003, 2009) and Kyiv (1987). In 1999, at the exhibition of private collections of watercolors in Paris, he won the Grand Prix. He worked in the direction of color. Among his works are "In Sedniv" (1980), "Mother's Bread" (1985), "In the Carpathians" (1985), "In Chernihiv Region" (1992), "Paris" (1996), and "Flowers of the Peaceful Field" (1999). He died on May 16, 2014 in Odesa. The artist's works are kept in art museums in Odesa, Kharkiv and other museums and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.

The entire sheet is filled with an image of lilac arranged on a table in two vases. Next to the vases on the table a large lilac branch lies.
