Petro Dorofiiovych Sliota was a Ukrainian painter. He was born on October 3 (16), 1911 in the village of Paniutine, Katerynoslav province. He graduated from the Kyiv Art Institute (1940). He created thematic paintings, portraits, landscapes, and still lifes. Member of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR. Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR starting in 1973. His main works include "Kyiv. Khreshchatyk" (1957), "Corn Harvesting" (1960), "Cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris" (1960), "Early Spring" (1964 to 1965), "Blue Morning", "Awakening" (1974). He participated in republic and all-Union exhibitions starting in 1947. He lived and worked in Kyiv. He died on June 25, 1974.
