Anatolii Kostiantynovych Bezbatko was a Ukrainian artist and graphic artist. He was born in Novomoskovsk in 1938 and received his art education at the Rostov-on-Don Art School. He improved his art education at the Vera Mukhina Leningrad State Art School, specializing in "Graphics". He worked in both painting and graphic techniques, creating book illustrations, bookplates, and posters. He lived in Mariupol. He was a member of the UNESCO Federation of Artists since 1990. Selected works (painting): "Self-portrait", "Landscape", "Self-portrait with Granddaughter"; graphic series: "Through Thorns to the Stars", "Native Azov", and others. He died in 1998. His works are kept in various museums of Ukraine and private collections.

A bust-length portrait of the famous Russian writer A.P. Chekhov. Face shown full on, wearing pince-nez, dressed in a black suit and a white shirt. The background is a faded cherry blossom color. Inscription on the recto at the lower left under the image. On the verso: "A.P. Chekhov", with the artist’s signature at the right.
