Eduard Yosypovych Bazylianskyi was a Ukrainian painter and a member of the Kyiv branch of the Union of Soviet Artists of Ukraine. He was born on 26 May 1931 in Kyiv. In 1961, he graduated with honours from the graphic arts faculty of the Kyiv branch of the Ukrainian Polygraphic Institute. His professional teachers were Mykhailo Ivanov and V. Riabov. He began his artistic career in 1956. He worked in the field of easel painting, in the genres of landscape, still life, and thematic composition. Starting from 1965, he participated in regional, republic, and all-Union exhibitions. Since 1970, he was a member of the Painting Section Bureau of the Kyiv branch of the Union of Soviet Artists of Ukraine. He died on 18 February 2018 in Kyiv. His main works include "Sedniv in Winter" (1974), "The Sun Has Set" (1978), "Village in the Carpathians" (1984), "February Sun" (1996), "By the Old House" (2000), "Little Bridge" (2000), among others. His works were acquired by the Ministry of Culture and Arts of Ukraine. His paintings are also held in private collections in Ukraine, France, Austria, and Finland.

In the foreground, on both left and right, birch trees are depicted. Behind them is a blue ribbon of river with two boats. Further back, at the foot of a tree-covered hill, stands a small house; to the left, among the trees, there is a bus. The landscape is rendered decoratively, with a predominance of warm tones – red, orange and brown.
