Borys Dmytrovych Kharchenko was a Soviet painter and teacher, member of the Leningrad Union of Artists (1950). Born on January 13, 1927 in the village of Starokorsunsk (now Krasnodar Krai, Russia). In 1943 he entered the Tbilisi Academy of Arts. In 1944 he transferred to the I.Yu. Repin Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (graduated in 1950). His teachers were M. Bernstein, H. Pavlovskyi, O. Zaitsev. Starting in 1950 he participated in art exhibitions. Master of genre paintings, landscapes, still lifes. Among his works are "Ukrainian Landscape", "In Ukraine", "Still Life", "In Donbas", "Semeyiz. Beach", "Gurzuf. Pier" , and many others. He died on February 21, 1985 in Leningrad. The artist's works are kept in museums and private collections in Russia, Ukraine and abroad.

Transferred by the Exhibition Directorate of the Union of Artists of the USSR. The time of transfer and the number of the act are not indicated in the old inventories. The last entry was made on 11.15.1969.

A side-by-side image of a black-bearded man in an astrakhan hat sitting at a low table (on the left). He pours wine from a clay jug into a horn. In the lower right corner is the author's signature and date: 1952.
