Anatolii Pavlovych Shepeliuk was a Soviet graphic artist and painter. He was born in 1908 in the city of Sterlitamak, Bashkiria. In 1926 he entered the fine arts department of the Workers' Faculty of Arts in Moscow. In the 1920s he was a member of the Youth Union of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia (OMAKHR). From 1933 to 1939 he studied at the All-Russian Academy of Arts under I. Brodskyi and V. Yakovlev. He painted historical and genre paintings, portraits, landscapes. He was a participant in art exhibitions starting in 1939. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (1943). His main works include "Portrait of an Old Collective Farmer" (1948), "Kutuzov on the Borodino Field" (1954), a series of portraits of cultural figures (1960s). The artist's works are kept in museums in Russia and abroad. He lived and worked in Moscow. He died in 1971 (72).

At the bottom, in the center, there is a dent - 4.5 cm with loss of the paint layer. On the right, below, there is a small puncture. Deformation and sagging of the canvas.

Gift of the author. Given by the artist M.K. Bendryk. The act number is not indicated in the old inventories. The last entry was made on 11.21.1967.

Original. Chest-high half-profile image of a young man. His right hand (the hand is not depicted) lies on the supposed armrest of the chair. In the upper right corner there is an illegible signature (not by the author) and a date in purple ink.
