Oleksandr Karpovych Burlin was a Ukrainian artist, landscape painter and a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine from 1971. He was born on August 10, 1920 in Khvalynsk (now Saratov region, Russia). A participant of World War II, he received combat awards and graduated from the military school in Ordzhonikidze (1941). Burlin worked in the art fund of the Union of Artists of Ukraine in Uzhhorod and participated in regional (from 1951), republic (from 1969) and foreign exhibitions (Hungary, 1968, 1969; Czechoslovakia, 1968; Romania, 1976). He had personal exhibitions in Uzhhorod (1970, 1981). Burlin painted mainly landscapes - integral paintings with a single space, in a generalized realistic manner. His main works are "Portrait of a Girl" (1964), "View of Uzhhorod" (1968), "Rural Motif" (1969), "Wavy Road" (1971), and others. Burlin passed away on December 27, 1994 in Uzhhorod. His works are kept in the Transcarpathian Art Museum, the Art Museum of Khvalynsk, and many different museums of Ukraine.
