Polina Antonivna Shakalo was a Ukrainian artist. She was born on May 27, 1937 in the village of Mykolaivka, Novomoskovsk district, Dnipropetrovsk region. In 1958 she graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk State Art School, majoring in sculpture. Her teachers were M. Panin, O. Zhyrdakov. Created thematic paintings, portraits, still lifes and landscapes. Participant of exhibitions starting in 1962, republic - starting in 1969, all-Union - starting in 1971. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (1971). Awarded the A. Kuindzhi Memorial Medal for participation in the republic landscape art exhibition in Mariupol (1973). People's Artist of Ukraine (2010). The artist's works are in museums and private collections in Ukraine and abroad. She lived and worked in Donetsk.
