Mykola Dmytrovych Andrushchenko is a Ukrainian painter and educator, a member of the Union of Soviet Artists of Ukraine since 1968, Honoured Artist of the Ukrainian SSR since 1989, and People's Artist of Ukraine since 1998. He was born on 19 December 1935 near Kryvyi Rih (Dnipropetrovsk region, Ukraine). In 1956, he graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk Art College. His professional mentor was Mykola Pohrebniak. Between 1958 and 1964, he studied at the Lviv Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts. His professional mentors included Roman Selskyi, Vitold Monastyrskyi, Danylo Devboshynskyi, and Ivan Skobala. From 1991, he held the position of Associate Professor in the Painting Department of the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts; from 1993, he was Professor in the Department of Monumental Painting at the Lviv National Academy of Arts. He worked in the fields of monumental, decorative, and easel painting. He began participating in republic exhibitions in1966, and in all-Union exhibitions in 1968. His solo exhibitions were held in Lviv (1985, 1995), Ivano-Frankivsk (1986), Kyiv (1997), and at the "Mystetska Zbirka" Gallery in 2010. Among his works are "Musicians" (1966), "Portrait of a Woman" (1967), "Parents’ House" (1989), "Conversation" (1991), "Village of Tukholka" (1998), and others. The artist’s works are held in many museums of Ukraine and in private collections both in Ukraine and abroad.
