Andrii Petrovych Poliushenko was a Soviet artist, a People's Artist of the RSFSR (1981), and a laureate of the I.Yu. Repin RSFSR State Prize. Born on October 1, 1911 in the Korinna settlement (now Voronezh Oblast, Russia), he studied from 1924 to 1929 at the studio of S.P. Sokolov in Nizhny Novgorod. His teachers were M. Krymov and L. Khnyhin. He was a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR starting in 1940. Poliushenko worked in the field of easel painting, creating landscapes. He participated in art exhibitions starting in 1936. Among his works are "Snow Has Fallen", "Early Snow", "Wet Lilac", "Spring Evening", "Birds Return", "Summer Evening", "Spring Rainbow", and others. Poliushenko died on November 15, 1985 in Mytishchi. The artist's paintings are kept in the State Russian Museum, in many art museums in the post-Soviet space, and in private collections.
