Vasyl Hnatovych Nepyipyvo was a Ukrainian artist, a member of the Union of Soviet Artists of Ukraine from 1960, an Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR from 1977, and a People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR from 1982. Born on December 28, 1915 (January 10, 1916) in the village of Kamyanka (now Poltava region, Ukraine), he graduated from the Kharkiv Art Studio. In 1937 and 1938, he worked as a designer at the Poltava Music and Drama Theater. He participated in World War II and was awarded the medal "For Victory over Germany" and the orders of the Red Star and the Patriotic War of the 1st degree. Nepyipyvo worked in the field of easel painting, creating landscapes and still lifes in a realistic style. He participated in republic exhibitions starting in 1950 and all-Union exhibitions starting in 1959. His personal exhibitions were held in Kyiv (1954, 1971, 1982, 1986) and Poltava (1980). Among his works are "Daisies" (1936), "Kerch Strait" (1954), "Poltava Region" (1956), "Koncha-Zaspa" (1959), "Vorskla River" (1960), "Dnieper Slopes" (1968), "Pskov Tower" (1970), "Lovers' Castle" (1990), and others. He died on January 19, 2007 in Kyiv. Some of his works are kept in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, and in many museums and galleries in Ukraine.
