Valentyn Vasylovych Sizikov was a Ukrainian painter. He was born on June 23, 1918 in the village of Shurygino, Barnaul district, Altai region. He graduated from the Omsk Art School (1939) and the Kharkiv Art Institute (1949). His teachers by specialty were S. Prokhorov, O. Kokel. He worked in the field of easel painting and graphics. Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine starting in 1953. His main works include "V. Maiakovskyi among the Youth" (1949), "Portrait of a Milkmaid L.P. Lutsenko" (1955), "Kharkiv Woman" (1960), "Portrait of General L. Svoboda" (1961), "Kharkiv Sea" (1964), "Portrait of M. Skrypnyk" (1965), and others. Participated in exhibitions: republic starting in 1949, all-Union starting in 1951, foreign starting in 1954. His works are kept in museums and private collections of Ukraine. Lived and worked in Kharkiv and died in 2005.

Against the background of the workshop interior there is a half-length image of a middle-aged man working at a lathe. On the right is a tall table lamp. In the lower left corner there is the author's signature and the date of creation of the work.
