Karpo Demianovych Trokhymenko was a Ukrainian painter, graphic artist. Born on October 25, 1885 in the village of Sushchany (now Kyiv region). Studied at the Kyiv Art School (1902 to 1910), at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1906 to 1907). Graduated from the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (1916). His teachers by specialty were I. Seleznov, M. Kasatkin, M. Samokysh. Worked in the field of easel painting and graphics. Master of genre, historical and landscape painting. His main works include “Along the Great Road” (1926), “Shots of the Day” (1937), “Shevchenko and Engelhardt” (1939), “Writer M. Stelmakh”, “Road across the Dnipro” (1947), “T.G. Shevchenko on the Monastic Mountain", "Katerina" (1959), "Hryhorii Skovoroda" (1966); a cycle of landscapes of the Chernihiv region (1964 to 1968). Participated in exhibitions starting in 1918, republic exhibitions starting in 1926, all-Union exhibitions starting in 1927, foreign exhibitions starting in 1928. People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1944). His works are in museums and private collections in Ukraine and abroad. Lived and worked in Kyiv and died on October 1, 1979.
