Halyna Denysivna Zorya was a Ukrainian artist, a master of still life and a teacher, and a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1946. Born on September 1 (14), 1915 in the city of Yenakiyeve (now Donetsk region, Ukraine), she studied at the Kyiv Art Institute in 1932-1933, 1935-1938, and 1945-1946 under Mykhailo Boichuk, Oleksii Shovkunenko, Pavlo Volokydin, and Kostiantyn Yeleva. From 1945 to 1952, she taught at the Taras Shevchenko Republic Art School in Kyiv. She is known as a painter of still lifes and thematic paintings. She participated in all-Ukrainian (1947) and international (1976) art exhibitions. Her main works include "Steelworker" (1948), "Rose and Phlox" (1950), "Blooming Chestnuts" (1961), "Gifts of the Earth" (1994), and "Viburnum" (1989). She died on January 15, 2002 in Kyiv. Her works are kept in Ukrainian museums.
