Viktor Ivanovych Tolochko was a Ukrainian painter. He was born on October 22, 1922 in the city of Melitopol, Zaporizhia region. He studied at the Kharkiv Art School (1946 to 1950). In 1957 he graduated from the Kharkiv Art Institute. His teachers were O. Kokel, S. Biesiedin. He worked in the field of easel painting. He painted landscapes, still lifes, genre paintings. His main works include "Defenders of the Brest Fortress", "Medical Nurse" (1960), "Kazantyp Bay", "Portrait of the Poet V. Matvieiev" (1963), "Silence" (1968), and others. He participated in republic exhibitions starting in 1960. People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1985). His works are represented in state and private collections of Ukraine and abroad. He lived and worked in Yalta. He died on November 13, 2006.
