Oleh Borysovych Kovalov is a Ukrainian artist and Honored Artist of Ukraine (2016). Born in Mariupol on September 7, 1940, he graduated from the M. Grekov Rostov-on-Don State Art School, where his teachers in the specialty were P. Cherenov and V. Horchakov. A member of the National Union of Artists since 1988, he works in the field of easel and monumental-decorative painting. He has participated in city, regional, republic, and all-Ukrainian exhibitions since 1966. Among his works are the painting "Azovstal Mixer" (1974), "Ships in Mariupol" (1979), "Steep Shore" (2002), "Bright Day" (2007), and others. His works are in museums and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
