Viacheslav Vasylovych Tokariev was a Ukrainian painter. Born on July 26, 1917 in the city of Bogoroditsk (now Tula region, Russia). 1934 to 1938 - studied at the Riazan Art and Pedagogical School. From 1938 to 1948 he studied at the I. Riepin Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. His teachers by specialty were O. Osmiorkin, S. Abuhov. Worked in the field of easel painting. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (1948). Participated in exhibitions: republic - starting in 1949, all-Union and foreign - starting in 1957. His main works include "Milky Maidens" (1960), "Summer" (1961), "New School" (1963 to 1965), "Soldiers" (1965), "Commissioner" (1966 to 1967), "Pravda" (1967), "Tachanka" (1970), and others. Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1967). People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1977). His works are kept in museums and private collections of Ukraine and abroad. Lived and worked in Odesa. He died on February 22, 2001.
