Vasyl Ivanovych Makatukha was a Soviet Ukrainian painter. He was born on August 18, 1922 in the village of Kitayhorod (now Dnipropetrovsk region) and graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk Art School (1947) and the Kyiv Art Institute (1954). In a realistic style, he created oil and watercolor landscapes, still lifes, and portraits. His main works include "The Last Warning" (1954), "Evening" (1960), "Noon", and "After Changes" (1963-1967). He participated in exhibitions: republic since 1957, all-Union since 1954. He was a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1959. He lived and worked in Donetsk and died in 2006.

At the bottom edge in the middle there is a break in the canvas - 2 cm. At the left edge in the middle there is peeling of the paint layer. At the top there is a mark from the subframe.
