Tatiana Nylivna Yablonska was a Ukrainian artist-painter, professor (1967), academician of the USSR Academy of Arts (1975), People's Artist of the USSR (1982), full member of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine (1997-2005), laureate of the USSR State Prizes (1949, 1951, 1979) and the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine (1998), Hero of Ukraine (2001). Born on February 11 (24), 1917 in Smolensk (now Russia). Studied at the Kyiv Art College. From 1935 to 1941 she received her education at the painting faculty of the Kyiv State Art Institute (workshop of Professor F. Krychevskyi). In 1944 to 1952 - teacher of drawing, painting and composition, associate professor at the Kyiv Art Institute. member of the Union of Soviet Artists of Ukraine from 1944. In 1967 to 1973 - professor, in 1966 to 1968 - head of the composition department of the Kyiv Art Institute. Yablonska began her creative activity in the direction of socialist realism, mainly in plot compositions. She developed themes of active movement, labor, and sports. Many paintings are full of lyricism in the themes of motherhood, subtle psychologism in portraits and self-portraits. Throughout her long creative life, the artist developed and changed her artistic style. In the 1960s, Yablonska turned to the sources of folk art. Participant of numerous art exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad. Among his works are "Bread" (1949), "Spring" (1950), "Cradle" (1968), "Bride" (1966), "Life Goes On" (1971), "Old Apple Tree" (1986), "Linden Honey" (1993) , and many others. She died on June 17, 2005 in Kyiv. The artist's works are kept and exhibited in the National Art Museum of Ukraine (Kyiv), numerous museums in Ukraine and abroad, as well as in many private collections.
