Kostiantyn Matviiovych Lomykin was a Ukrainian painter. He was born on August 19, 1924 in the city of Hlukhiv, Sumy region. He graduated from the Odesa Art School (1951), where his teachers by profession were L. Muchnyk, M. Sheliuto, and M. Poplavskyi. He worked in the genres of thematic painting, portrait, landscape, and still life. He was an Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1971), and in 1984, he received the title of People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR. He participated in republic (since 1952), all-Union (since 1951), and foreign (since 1953) exhibitions. Lomykin's main works include "Young Cooks" (1952), "This Must Not Be Repeated", portrait of a ballerina (1960), "In the Days of Occupation" (1964), "The Living Word of Illich" (1967), and "Steps of Epochs" (1968). The artist's works are in museums in Ukraine, as well as in private collections abroad. He died on July 9, 1993.
