Borys Volodymyrovych Zhukov was a Ukrainian Soviet artist and a member of the Kharkiv organization of the Union of Soviet Artists of Ukraine from 1951. Born on May 21, 1921 in the village of Levandalivka (now Kharkiv region, Ukraine), he studied from 1934 to 1939 at the Kharkiv Art School, and from 1939 to 1940 at the Kharkiv Art Institute. He participated in World War II and was awarded the Orders of the Red Star and the Patriotic War of the 2nd Degree. From 1946 to 1950, Zhukov continued his studies at the Kharkiv Art Institute under Mykhailo Derehus and Leonid Chernov. He worked mainly in the field of easel painting, creating thematic paintings and landscapes. He participated in republic exhibitions starting in 1944 and all-Union and foreign exhibitions starting in 1950. His personal exhibition was held in Kharkiv in 1957. Among his works are "On the Campaign" (1957), "Friends" (1957), "Through the Mist" (1969), "River Osetr" (1972), "Street in the Mountain" (autolithography, 1954), and others. He died in Kharkiv on June 22, 1974. His works are kept in some Ukrainian museums.

In the foreground there are stones and the sea. In the center there is a monument to the lost Russian ships in Sevastopol. In the background there is a wide strip of sky with clouds. Bottom right - author's signature and illegible date.
