Valentyna Petrivna Tsvietkova was a Ukrainian artist, member of the Union of Artists of the USSR starting in 1944, Yalta organization of the Union of Soviet Artists of Ukraine starting in 1960. People's Artist of Ukraine starting in 1997. Born on April 10 (23), 1917 in the city of Astrakhan (now Russia). From 1930 to 1935 she studied at the Astrakhan Art School. Teacher: Pavel Vlasov. From 1935 to 1938 she worked in the "Artist" society in Astrakhan; from 1938 to 1940 - in the workshop at the House of Arts in Leningrad. From 1950 to 1972 - member of the board of the Crimean branch of the Union of Soviet Artists of Ukraine. She worked in the field of easel painting, creating portraits, landscapes, still lifes. The main theme of her works is the beauty of the earth. The artist used various painting and graphic techniques: oil, pastel, watercolor. She participated in art exhibitions starting in 1936: republic (starting in 1951), all-Union (starting in 1955), foreign (starting in 1965). Personal: Kyiv (1960, 1969, 1976, 1980), Simferopol (1968, 1972, 1985), Moscow (1968, 1980, 2001), Yalta (1954, 1975, 1978, 1979, 1997, 2002). Among his works are "Phloxes" (1959), "Summer Evening" (1961), "Taras's Homeland" (1964), "Chrysanthemums" (1967), "Blooming Crimea" (1985), "Wisteria" (1986), "Lilac" (1997), "Roses" (2001), and others. She died on November 27, 2007 in Yalta. The artist's works are kept in the National Art Museum of Ukraine (Kyiv), many other museum and private collections in Ukraine, Russia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Canada, Japan, the USA, and France. In 2007, the artist donated 75 of her works to the Yalta Historical and Literary Museum.
