Volodymyr Mykolaiovych Yuhai (Korean name - Yu Han Cho) was a Ukrainian painter. Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1976). Born on December 29, 1922 in Vladivostok (now Russia). In 1945 he graduated from the art school in Alma-Ata (now Almaty). From 1945 to 1951 he studied at the Kyiv Art Institute. His teacher was Oleksii Shovkunenko. He worked in the field of easel painting, creating thematic paintings, landscapes. He participated in art exhibitions starting in 1949. Among his works are scenes from the life of Taras Shevchenko (1954 to 1964), "Front Spring" (1975), "News from the Southern Front" (1976), "To the Future" (1983), "Saint Volodymyr" (1991), "Chernihiv Region" (1993), "March" (1995), and others. He died in Kyiv on April 26, 1997. Some of his paintings are kept in museum and private collections in Ukraine and Russia.

Against the background of the workshop interior, two men are depicted in special hats with saggy brims, work jackets, and mittens. One of them is standing, the other is sitting. Their faces are illuminated by an invisible flame.
