Zoltan Ivanovych Sholtes was a Ukrainian painter. Born on July 21, 1909 in the village of Priekopa, Sobrance, Košice Region, Slovakia. Studied at the Uzhhorod Art School (1930 to 1933). Class of J. Bokshai, A. Erdel. Starting in 1945 he was a regular participant in republic, and starting in 1946 all-Union art exhibitions. A member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine from 1946. Master of realistic landscape. His main works include "Spring" (1945), "Winter on Verkhovyna" (1953), "Verkhovyna" (1958), "Winter in Yornava" (1959), "Kolochava in the Spring" (1960), "Storm over the Beskydy Mountains" (1968), and others. His works are kept in museums and private collections in Ukraine and abroad. He lived and worked in Uzhhorod. He died in Uzhhorod on December 16, 1990.
