Zinaida Illivna Zatsepina was a Ukrainian Soviet artist and a member of the Union of Soviet Artists of Ukraine from 1951. She was born on October 10 (23), 1913 in the settlement of Novaya Kalytva (now Voronezh region, Russia). During 1933-1936, she studied at the Tambov Art and Pedagogical College, and from 1937 to 1939 at the Penza Art School. Her teacher was Ivan Horiushkin-Skoropudov. In 1939, she became a student at the Kyiv Art Institute, where she graduated in 1948. Her teachers there were F. Krychevskyi, K. Trokhymenko, O. Shovkunenko, and O. Fomin. She worked in the field of easel painting, creating genre paintings, portraits, landscapes, and still lifes. Among her works are "On the Dnipro" (1951), "Coast in Alupka" (1955), "Roses" (1957), "In the Holosiivsky Park" (1969), "Morning" (1969), "Friends" (1971), "Sunny Bunny" (1972), and others. She participated in republic and foreign exhibitions starting in 1949. In 1959, her works were exhibited in India. Her personal exhibitions were held in Kyiv (1977) and Penza (1979). She died in Kyiv on March 9, 1986. Her works are kept in the National Art Museum of Ukraine (Kyiv) and in many museum and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
