Valerii Tsezarevych Laskarzhevskyi was a Soviet Ukrainian painter. He was born in 1947 in Kyiv. He graduated from the Kyiv Art Secondary School, then the Moscow Higher Art and Industrial School (Stroganovske) with a degree in monumental and decorative painting. His teacher was B. Iordanskyi. Laskarzhevskyi's work is dominated by still lifes, interiors, and portraits. A member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (1973), he participated in republic, all-Union, and international exhibitions since 1970. His works are kept in museums in Ukraine and Russia. He lived and worked in Kyiv.

Item description from the inventory book:
Three-quarters of the space of the painting is occupied by vegetables, fruits, and flowers depicted almost in life-size. In the center of the still life there is a bouquet of red dahlias. A pumpkin, cabbage heads, sunflower, and onion stand out; on a hillock, a bucket with apples; even higher, on a bench, a bucket with potatoes and apples. There are also a rooster, a hen, a basket with eggs, and a can of milk.
