Oleksandr Pavlovych Mohylevskyi was a painter, graphic artist, watercolorist, and book illustrator. Born in 1885 in Mariupol, he studied from 1906 to 1912 in the workshop of painting professor S. Hollosha in Munich. In 1910-1913, Mohylevskyi began to participate in exhibitions (Munich, Zurich, Paris, Stockholm). In 1921, he returned to Moscow. He was an exhibitor of the societies "Jack of Diamonds" (1913-1914) and "4 Arts" (1925-1928) and a member of the THH at the Printing House (1926-1929). Starting in the early 1920s, he designed children's books and illustrated works of art. His most famous book was "The Adventures of Travka" by S. Rozanov, which has undergone many reprints. He often worked in the technique of autolithography. Starting in 1932, he was a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Mogilevsky's works are kept in museums and private collections in Russia, Ukraine and abroad. Mohylevskyi lived and worked in Moscow. He died in 1980.

In the background there are coastal buildings and a strip of sky. On the back at the top right there is the inscription: “A.P.
