Ivan Petrovych Selishchev was a Ukrainian painter. He was born on April 10, 1928 in the village of Rosstani (now Orel region, Russia). He graduated from the Luhansk Art School (1948) and the Kharkiv Art Institute. Teachers by specialty were H. Tomenko, S. Biesiedin. Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine starting in 1961. He worked in the field of easel painting. He participated in republic exhibitions starting in 1957. From 1951 to 2010 he was a participant in regional, all-Ukrainian, all-Union, and international exhibitions. His main works include "The Beginning of Spring" (1957), "Northern Mamayiv Mine" (1958), "Makiyivka. Industrial Landscape" (1960), "Evening in the Field" (1963), "Collective Farm Spring" (1965), and others. His works are represented in state and private collections in Ukraine and abroad. Lived and worked in Kharkiv and died in 2011.
