Luka Andriiovych Zakharchenko was a Ukrainian decorator, painter, and member of the creative team of the Mariupol organization of the National Union of Ukrainian Artists. Born in the village of Velyka Pavlivka, Poltava region in 1943, during 1965-1969 he studied at the Kharkiv Art School, specializing in decoration. Starting in 1969, he worked at the Donetsk Regional Drama Theater (Mariupol) as a decorator and head of the decoration shop. At the same time, he was engaged in creative work in the field of painting and graphics. He created a series of landscapes dedicated to old Mariupol. Zakharchenko was a participant of city, regional, republic, and all-Ukrainian exhibitions. Among his works are "Dawn" (1998), "Road in the Pine Forest" (2011), "Winter Sun" (2004), "Frosty Day" (2006), and others. He passed away in 2016 in Mariupol. His works were in the Mariupol Museum of Local Lore and in private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
