Yevhen Vsevolodovych Volobuiev was a Ukrainian artist, Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1963), and People's Artist of Ukraine (1994). He was born on July 30, 1912 in the village of Varvarivka, Kharkiv province. In 1928-1931, he studied at the Kharkiv Art College, and in 1931-1934, he was a student of the Kharkiv Art Institute. In 1940, he graduated from the Kyiv Art Institute (workshop of F. Krychevskyi, D. Shavykin). Volobuiev worked in the field of easel painting, mainly in the genre of landscape and still life. His personal exhibitions were held in Kyiv (1968, 1974), Lviv (1972), Moscow (1976), and at the National Museum of Ukrainian Art (Kyiv, 1993, 1997, 1999, 2003). His main works include "At Noon" (1947), "In Spring" (1949), "Morning" (1954), "Outside the Workshop Window" (1964), "In the Partisan Land" (1965), and others. The artist's paintings are kept in museums and private collections in Ukraine. He lived in Kyiv and died on February 2, 2002.

Across the snowy field, to the left of the centre, a path is laid. In the distance, two people can be seen walking, followed by trees. The overall colour scheme is pinkish-blue. In the lower right corner, the inscription reads: "Ye. Volobuiev 56."
