Volodymyr Ohiiovych Novykovskyi was a Ukrainian artist, graphic artist, and painter. He was a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine from 1960 and an Honored Artist of Ukraine from 2002. Born on November 21 (September) 1931 in Zhytomyr, he graduated from the Kyiv Art Institute in 1958, then from the creative workshop of the USSR Academy of Arts in Kyiv in 1965. His teachers in the specialty were M. Sharonov, S. Erzhykovskyi, M. Derehus, L. Chychkan, I. Pleshchynskyi, and I. Selivanov. He worked in the field of easel and book graphics, mainly in the lithography technique. He participated in republic (starting in 1957), all-Union (starting in 1958), and foreign (starting in 1959) exhibitions. Among his works are "Metallurgists of the Dnieper Region" (1957 to 1964), "Ukrainian New Buildings of the Seven-Year Сycle" (1959 to 1960), "Based on T.G. Shevchenko" (1960), the series of etchings "Workers of the Black Sea Region" (1961 to 1965), "Landscapes of Ukraine" (1990-2001), "Portraits of Figures of Ukraine and Kyivan Rus" (1988-2001), and others. Some of his works are kept in museums of Ukraine.

In the lower part of the sheet, rifle-armed people rushing toward the Winter Palace building. At the top left — the silhouette of the "Aurora"; above it there is a ribbon with the words: "To all! To all! To all! . Revolution is necessary." In the left-center — a ribbon with the words: "All power to the Soviets!" Under the image at right: N, at left: the main event of the century.
