Oleksandr Matviiovych Talieiev was a Ukrainian painter, graphic artist, illustrator, and poster artist. He was born in 1924 in the city of Yelysavetgrad (now Kropyvnytskyi, Ukraine). He studied at the Kazan Art School (1946 to 1949). His teachers were V. Rusetskyi, V. Speranskyi. He worked in the field of easel painting and graphics, created monumental and decorative panels for several palaces of culture. As an illustrator, he collaborated for a long time with the publishing house of children's literature "Rainbow". He was engaged in propaganda and mass art; he created the agricultural poster "For 50 centners of corn grain per hectare!" (1950 to 1960s). His main works include paintings "Summer" (1960), "Anxiety" (1962 to 1963); graphic series "My Contemporaries" (1960 to 1961), "Industrial Dnipropetrovsk Region" (1962), "Holy Harvest" (1969). Member of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR (1962). Honored Artist of Ukraine (2004). Starting in 1960 he participated in city, regional, republic, and all-Union exhibitions. His works are kept in museums and private collections in Ukraine and abroad. He lived and worked in the city of Dnipropetrovsk (now the city of Dnipro). He died in 2006.
