Valentyn Hryhorovych Taranenko was a Ukrainian painter, graphic artist. Born on August 29, 1933 in Luhansk. Graduated from the Kharkiv Art Institute (1960). His teachers were H. Bondarenko, V. Myronenko. Worked in the field of easel painting and graphics. Master of thematic painting. His main works include series “At the Luhansk Diesel Locomotive Plant” (1960), “About Soviet Estonia” (1965), “At the Luhansk Airport” (1966), and others. Participated in republic exhibitions starting in 1960. His works are represented in many state and private collections in Ukraine and abroad. Lived and worked in Luhansk. Died in 1996.
