Hryhorii Stepanovych Domnenko was a Ukrainian painter who worked in the genres of thematic painting, landscape, and still life. He was born on September 5, 1922 in the village of Kovali, Poltava province. He graduated from the Luhansk Art School (1950) and the Kharkiv Art Institute (1956), where his teachers by profession were M. Sheliuto, V. Aleksieiev, and B. Kosariev. Domnenko worked in the field of easel painting, easel graphics, and theatrical and decorative art. He participated in republic exhibitions from 1957. His main works include a portrait of Zhakeyeva (1958), "The Lords Are Burning" (1961), "Shevchenko Among the Peasants" (1966), and "Love Ukraine" (1964). The artist's works are kept in museums and private collections in Ukraine and abroad. He lived and worked in Luhansk and died in 1976.
