Heorhii Viacheslavovych Yakutovych was a Ukrainian graphic artist, illustrator, film artist. Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1968). People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1990). Professor of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine (1995), laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine named after T.G. Shevchenko (1983, 1991). Born on February 14, 1930 in Kyiv. In 1948 he entered the Kyiv State Art Institute (graphics department, workshop of I. Pleshchynskyi). He worked in the field of book and easel graphics, was a film production artist. In addition to book graphics, he created individual engravings on historical themes, themes of Ukrainian folk tales, postcards on the motifs of Ukrainian folk songs. Starting in the 1990s he has turned to abstract forms of art. Personal exhibition: Kyiv (2000). Among the book illustrations: "Sonnets" (M. Rylsky, 1969), "Golden-Horned Deer" (D. Pavlychko, 1970), "Zakhar Berkut" (I. Franko, 1972), "Tale of Bygone Years" (1981) , and many others. He died on September 5, 2000 in Kyiv. Some of his works are kept in museums of Ukraine.
