Anton Oleksiiovych Shepa was a Ukrainian painter. He was born on April 28 (or 17), 1928 in Pidhoriany (part of Mukachevo) in Transcarpathia. From 1948 to 1954 he studied at the Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts (Faculty of Monumental Painting). His teachers were Y. Bokshai, A. Erdeli, R. Selskyi. Starting in 1954 he worked in Uzhhorod simultaneously in the field of monumental and easel painting. Starting in 1957 he was a participant in republic, all-Union, and foreign exhibitions. Member of the National Union of Ukrainian Artists (1960). He created a series of works “My Transcarpathia”. Among his works are “Carpathian Region” (1966), “Hutsul Region” (1968), “Old Transcarpathia” (1969). Wall paintings in various public buildings. His works are kept in museums and private collections in Ukraine and abroad. He lived and worked in Kyiv starting in 1970. He died on July 4, 2014.

In the foreground, a greenish-ochre hill appears with a narrow path and several small haystacks. Behind the hill, a stylised mountain range extends. In the lower right corner, the artist’s signature is visible, the date is illegible.
