Serhii Fedorovych Shyshko was a Ukrainian painter. Born on June 12 (25), 1911 in the town of Nosivka, (now Chernihiv region). Studied at the Kyiv Art Institute (1929 to 1933, class of F. Krychevskyi). In 1943 he graduated from the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of the All-Russian Academy of Arts in Leningrad (workshop of B. Johanson). Master of landscape and still life. Participated in exhibitions: republic starting in 1945, all-Union starting in 1947, foreign starting in 1955. His main works include series of paintings "Kyiv - Beloved City" (1944 to 1970), "Bank of the Dnieper" (1950), "Mountain Valley" (1951), "Irpin in Winter" (1953), "Kyiv. Park Bridge", "New Kyiv" (1960), "Road to the Forest" (1961), "March Snow" (1962), "Holosiyivka Autumn" (1967), "Blue Spring" (1969), and others. People's Artist of Ukraine (1964). People's Artist of the USSR (1974). Lived and worked in Kyiv. Died on April 26, 1997.

Original. On the left in the foreground, a lakeshore appears with a road leading into the depth of the composition. Birch trees clad in the fresh greenery of early spring line the path. In the lower right corner, the artist’s signature and the date are visible.
