Ivan Oleksandrovych Kholomeniuk was a Ukrainian painter, member of the Union of Soviet Artists of Ukraine from 1965. People's Artist of Ukraine. Born on October 14, 1926 in the village of Myzynivka (now Cherkasy region, Ukraine). From 1948 to 1950 he studied at the Kyiv Art Institute. His teachers in the specialty were T. Yablonska, S. Yerzhikovskyi, S. Hrihoriev. From 1950 to 1954 he studied at the Faculty of Monumental Painting of the Lviv Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts. His teachers were Y. Bokshai, M. Lishchynera, Yu. Shcherbatenko. He worked in the field of easel painting, creating thematic compositions, portraits, landscapes, still lifes. He participated in art exhibitions: republic - starting in 1957, all-Union - starting in 1970, foreign - starting in 1977. Personal exhibition: Chernivtsi (1969). Among his works are "International" (1967), "Youth" (1968), "Before the Holiday" (1982), "Bohdan Khmelnytsky" (1994), "Mykhailo Hrushevsky" (1998), "Carpathians" (2000), and others. He died on April 22, 2008 in Chernivtsi. The artist's works are kept in the Chernivtsi Art Museum, other museums of Ukraine, as well as in museum and private collections in Canada, the USA, Germany, and Austria.
