Mykola Ivanovych Rodzin was a Ukrainian graphic artist, member of the Union of Artists of the USSR starting in 1958, and Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR starting in 1972. Born on March 28, 1924 in the village of Novoselivka (now Kharkiv region, Ukraine). He entered the Dnipropetrovsk State Art School in 1940, but his studies were interrupted by World War II. He was awarded with medals. During 1945 to 1949, he continued his studies at the Dnipropetrovsk Art School. His teachers were M. Panin and M. Pohribniak. In 1955, Rodzin graduated from the Kharkiv Art Institute (workshop of V.F. Mironenko). Starting in 1955, he participated in regional, republic, all-Union, and foreign art exhibitions. His personal exhibitions were held in Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Saratov, and Sevastopol. He worked in the field of easel graphics, and his main subject matter was industrial landscapes (etching, aquatint, engraving, linocut, watercolors). Among his works are "Industrial Motifs" (1955), "Around Ukraine" (1969), "Pages of Life" (1964), "My Land" (1967), and many others. From 1955 to 1965, he taught at the Dnipropetrovsk Art School. His works are kept in many museums in the post-Soviet space (more than 60 museums). He died on March 4, 1978 in Dnipropetrovsk (now the city of Dnipro).
