Anatolii Fedorovych Bykov was a graphic artist, painter, and member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1989, as well as Honored Artist of Ukraine since 2019. Born on March 28, 1939 in the village of Velyka Oleksandrivka (now a town in Kherson region, Ukraine), in 1968 he graduated from the M. Samokysh Crimean Art School, where he studied under V. Kharabarina and A. Shypov. From 1968, he worked in the Kherson art and production workshops of the Art Fund of Ukraine. From 1972, he participated in republic and foreign (Bulgaria, 1974; Hungary, 1986) exhibitions. He had personal exhibitions in Kherson (1989) and Poland (1995, 1996). Most of his works from the series "Construction of the Crimean Canal" (1971), "Construction of the Bridge over the Dnieper" (1986), "Crimean Motifs" (1989) have the character of plot-thematic compositions. Bykov created landscape works that reproduce the beauty of Ukraine: "Awakening" (1988), "Night Thunderstorm" (1999), "Cornflower Wind" (2001), and others. He died on March 11, 2024. His works are kept in museums in Ukraine and Poland.
