Andrii Volodymyrovych Chebykin is a Ukrainian graphic artist and teacher, member of the Union of Soviet Artists of Ukraine from 1973, chairman of its Kyiv organization in 1987 to 1989, founder and academician of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine starting in 1996 and its president during 1997-2022. Born on April 14, 1946 in the city of Haisyn (now Vinnytsia region, Ukraine). From 1964 to 1970 he studied at the graphics faculty of the Kyiv Art Institute. His teachers were L. Chichkan, I. Selivanov. Starting in 1970 - teacher, starting in 1974 - associate professor, head of the free graphics workshop at the graphics faculty of the Kyiv Art Institute, in 1989-2020 - rector of the Kyiv Art Institute of the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture. He works in the fields of easel and book graphics, sculpture, decorative art (tapestry). Participant of all-Ukrainian art exhibitions starting in 1966 and international ones starting in 1976. His personal exhibitions were held in Dnipropetrovsk (1984), Mykolaiv (1987), Vinnytsia (1988, 1995), Kyiv (1990, 1993, 1996, 1999-2014), Poltava (1993), Lviv (1995), Mariupol (2017). Among his works are series of graphic works - "Obradove Village" (1970), "Soldier's Everyday Life" (1972 to 1973), "Cosmic Etchings" (1976), "Universe" (1979 to 1980), "Passers-by" (1986), and others, creating illustrations for literary works by Ivan Franko, Oles Honchar, Leonid Vysheslavsky, Viktor Grabovsky, Ivan Drach, Borys Oliinyk and other writers. His works are kept in the National Art Museum of Ukraine in Kyiv, art museums in Kharkiv, Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Odesa, Lviv, Chernivtsi, and in private collections in many countries.
