Mykhailo Serhiiovych Baroiants was a Ukrainian painter of Armenian descent, a member of the Union of Soviet Artists of Ukraine since 1958. He was born on 25 September 1925 in the town of Kropotkin (now Krasnodar Krai, Russia). He took part in the Second World War. In 1945, he entered the Yerevan Art Institute and transferred to the Kyiv Art Institute in 1948, graduating in 1953. His teachers included Tetiana Yablonska, Oleksii Shovkunenko, Viktor Puzyrkov, and Kostiantyn Yeleva. He worked in the field of easel painting, creating thematic compositions, landscapes, and still lifes. The artist participated in republic and all-Union exhibitions starting from 1953. Selected works include "Amateurs" (1954), "Friends" (1958), "Memories" (1971), and "The Water Flows" (1980). He passed away on 17 June 2006 in Kyiv. His works are held in museums in Ukraine and abroad.
