Anatolii Mykhailovych Iovliev was a Ukrainian graphic artist, an Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1985), and an Honored Artist of Poland. Born in the city of Tver on April 12, 1917, he studied under artists S.F. Spasskyi and P.I. Rumiantsev. During 1937 and 1938, he studied at the Moscow Polygraphic Institute. Iovliev took part in World War II and was awarded the Order of the Red Star and medals. In 1950-1970, he collaborated with the publishing houses "Dnipro", "Youth", and "Soviet Writer". He worked in the field of easel and book graphics. Starting in 1959, he participated in republic exhibitions, and starting in 1963, all-Union and foreign exhibitions. Among his works are the series "From Halych to Prague", "Through the Carpathians", "Winter and Spring of 1945", and illustrations and designs of books by Ukrainian writers. He died on January 9, 2001 in Kyiv. His works are kept in the National Art Museum of Ukraine (Kyiv) and in many other museums of Ukraine.
