Vasyl Ivanovych Kaluha was a Ukrainian graphic artist, a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR, and a participant in World War II. Born on January 1, 1923 in the city of Novozybkiv (now Bryansk region, Russia). In 1951-1952 he studied at the Kyiv School of Applied Arts (where his teacher by profession was D. Shavykin), and in 1952-1958 at the Kyiv Art Institute (where his teachers by profession were O. Pashchenko, V. Kasiian, and K. Trokhymenko). He worked in the field of easel and book graphics; his main technique was linocut. He participated in republic, all-Union, and international art exhibitions starting in 1958. He created the series "Dnipro Today" (1957-1958), "On the Construction Sights of Ukraine" (1960), "Women's Fate" (based on the poetry of Taras Shevchenko, 1963), "Crimean Poppies" (1964), and "Evening Dnipro" (1969). He died on November 14, 1982 in Moscow. His works are kept in some museums of Ukraine.
